Ministry of Post and Telegraphs Building
The building is located in the ancient estates of the convent of Santo Domingo, which´s structure had been affected by the earthquake of 1917 and was demolished in 1939. At first it was called the Palace of Communications, a six-storey building, designed by Hernando González Varon and Bruno Violi. It was inaugurated in 1944. On its western side, nowadays the building houses the monument to Manuel Murillo Toro, which was inaugurated on January 1, 1920 in Bogota's Independence Park, but then moved to the building. Today the building is known as Manuel Murillo toro Building.
